Purpurite’s color is the whole pitch: a saturated, almost electric violet that few other minerals match without dye or treatment. It’s a niche stone, more popular with specialty crystal retailers than mainstream jewelry shops, and we keep that in mind when sizing our stock. We cut it into simple cabochons for purpurite rings and pendants, letting the color do the work rather than complicating the setting. Because rough supply is limited, we run smaller batches, much as we advise for metallic pyrite or the bolder purple rose dahlia line in our full gemstone catalog. Export-quality grading is applied before cutting, and pricing is quoted per batch size.
